Tamian Cafe is a laid-back spot nestled along the Kampuhan Ridge Walk in the heart of Payangan, Bali, offering a fresh and casual cafe experience that blends well with the village’s lush rice terraces. It's the kind of place that naturally invites you to slow down, whether you’re winding down from a morning hike or looking for a relaxed afternoon break surrounded by green vistas and gentle breezes.

The outdoor seating area captures panoramic views of the surrounding rice fields, where you might find yourself quietly watching birds or locals tending to the paddies—scenes that quietly root the cafe in its rural Balinese context. This connection to the environment frames the atmosphere: peaceful and unhurried, popular with both travelers who have just completed nearby countryside walks and locals seeking a comfortable spot for casual meetups.

The menu leans toward light, wholesome fare that matches the easygoing vibe. Smoothie bowls and the Koti Signature Bowl, an overnight oats dish topped with crunchy granola, stand out as nourishing, flavorful options for breakfast or a midday boost. The coffee here, especially the flat white, arrives well-prepared but without fuss—perfect for sipping slowly while watching the day unfold. Fresh juices like lychee ice tea and pineapple juice complement the tropical setting.

Lunch choices include more substantial bites such as a chicken panini that locals keep coming back to, avocado toast, and even Pad Thai Goong, showing a slight nod toward diverse tastes. Some adventurous regulars enjoy the pastas, though not all dishes land equally, which hints at a menu still finding its rhythm. The black rice dessert with coconut milk has been mentioned as a memorable highlight—simple ingredients that soak up local flavors.

Service contributes to the relaxed tone here; staff are approachable and genuinely welcoming, making the place feel easy and familiar without pretense. The cafe suits daytime visits best, especially mid-morning to early afternoon when the light enhances the lush surroundings and the temperature is comfortable for lingering outdoors.

In essence, Tamian Cafe offers a genuine slice of rural Bali hospitality: food and drink that match the local pace, a strong connection to the landscape, and a casual comfort that encourages visitors to stay awhile. It's ideal for those who appreciate sipping good coffee or enjoying light meals with a side of scenery, particularly after exploring Gianyar’s rice terrace trails.

I planned to visit Tamiyan Cafe, and it did not disappoint. It’s a beautiful place with a lovely view of the rice terraces. The food was delicious, and I really enjoyed sitting there watching the birds on the rice fields. Highly recommend!

A lovely café nestled along the Kampuhan Ridge Walk — the atmosphere is incredible, with a gentle breeze all day and beautiful views of the rice fields. We tried their Koti Signature Bowl, an overnight oats bowl topped with granola — absolutely delicious and highly recommended. The staff were super friendly and always smiling.

I’ve visited this cafe many times and really enjoy the atmosphere. The chicken panini is my favorite here, and the green curry is also very good. I tried the aglio e olio pasta this time and found it a bit dry for my taste, as I usually prefer pasta that’s more saucy. Overall it’s a lovely place.

Absolutely incredible food, I got the Koti bowl and loved it. The fried rice is very flavorful. Would highly recommend this as a stop on the trail.

I just finished an amazing lunch at Tamian Cafe and I loved it. I ate a Pasta Oil with shrimps, absolutely delicious topped with cheese and olive oil on the side, and a slide of brad. And I had the black rice desert, with coconut milk which was the one I loved the most in entire Ubud. Staff are super kind. and the views for the Rice Terraces are stunning. One of the best places to eat in this area I would say.

My lovely neighbor — a hidden gem right across from my home. It has such a delightful view and amazing drinks. There are no extra fees for card payments, and I get my meals from here almost all the time. The portions are delicious and generous. The staff is very sweet and friendly. It’s a place I truly love

Wow! I am lost for words. Definitely, the best panini I had in Bali (that too for 50k). Amazing view and calm surrounding. You may want to stop here on your way or coming back from Campuhan Right Walk. ^ Panini came with slices, I was in the middle of having it when I realised that it is worth a 5 star review
